Rice Football is well represented on 2021 NFL rosters. Here’s the latest from the NFL Owls in action in Week 11.

Offense

Calvin Anderson – OT, Broncos

Anderson and the Broncos were on bye in Week 11. He’s likely to get another start this week in place of Garrett Bowles.

Nick Leverett – OT, Buccaneers

Leverett was inactive for the Buccaneers’ Week 11 game against the New York Giants.

Defense

Bryce Callahan – CB, Broncos

Callahan remains on IR after a knee injury suffered in Week 8.

Christian Covington – DL, Chargers

Covington missed the Chargers’ Week 11 game against the Steelers after testing positive for COVID-19 this week.

Andrew Sendejo – S, Colts

Sendejo made three tackles in the Colts’ Week 11 victory over the Titans.

Special Teams

Jack Fox – P, Lions

Fox punted six times with a long of 61 yards in the Lions’ Week 11 loss to the Browns. He averaged 46.7 yards per punt and downed two inside the 20. He’s now kicked at least one punt of 55 yards or longer in nine of 10 games.

Chris Boswell – K, Steelers

Boswell was a perfect 3-for-3 on field goal tries and 4-for-4 on extra points in the Steelers’ Week 11 loss to the Chargers, including the go-ahead field goal with less than four minutes ahead in regulation before the Chargers regained the lead on a long Justin Herbert touchdown pass.

Offense

Calvin Anderson – OT, Broncos

Anderson drew his second consecutive start on Sunday. He’s now played every offensive snap for the Broncos in back-to-back weeks as well as his usual reps on special teams.

Nick Leverett – OT, Buccaneers

Leverett was inactive for the Buccaneers’ Week 10 game against the Washington Football team.

Defense

Bryce Callahan – CB, Broncos

Callahan remains on IR after a knee injury suffered in Week 8.

Christian Covington – DL, Chargers

Covington did not record a tackle in the Chargers’ Week 10 game against the Vikings. That was the first game he’s appeared in this season with registering at least two tackles.

Andrew Sendejo – S, Colts

Sendejo finished second on the team with seven tackles in the Colts’ Week 10 victory over the Jaguars. That ties a season-high.

Special Teams

Jack Fox – P, Lions

Two former Rice football special teamers squared off in Week 10. Fox punted 10 times with a long of 61 yards. That’s the most punts Fox has kicked in a single game in his NFL career, smashing a previous high of eight punts set on Dec. 26 against Tampa Bay last season.

Chris Boswell – K, Steelers

Boswell built off a strong previous week, knocking through three field goals and one extra point. He contributed to 10 of the team’s 16 points by himself.

Offense

Calvin Anderson – OT, Broncos

After working as a reserve for the early portion of the season, Calvin Anderson drew his first start this week, filling in for injured Garrett Bolles. It was the third start of his career and the most snaps he’s played in a singular game to date.

Nick Leverett – OT, Buccaneers

Leverett and the Buccaneers were on bye in Week 9. They resume play in Week 10 at the Washington Football Team.

Defense

Bryce Callahan – CB, Broncos

Callahan suffered a knee injury in Week 8 and was unable to return to the game, subsequently being placed on IR. He will miss at least three games.

Christian Covington – DL, Chargers

Covington had four tackles in the Chargers’ Week 9 win over the Eagles. He has recorded multiple tackles in every game he’s played so far this season.

Andrew Sendejo – S, Colts

Sendejo drew his fifth start of the year for the Colts in their Thursday Night Football win over the Jets, telling three tackles. He’s now reached three or more tackles in all but one start this season.

Special Teams

Jack Fox – P, Lions

Fox and the Lions were on bye in Week 9. They resume play in Week 10 at Pittsburgh.

Chris Boswell – K, Steelers

Boswell bounced back from an injury suffered on a fake field goal and suited up for the Steelers’ Monday Night Football game against the Bears. He missed one of three extra points on the night, but redeemed himself by making three field goals, two of which were from distances beyond fifty yards while the third was the game-winner in the final seconds.

Offense

Calvin Anderson – OT, Broncos

For the second time in three weeks, Anderson saw some work with the Denver offense in their Week  8 win over the Washington Football team in addition to his customary special teams snaps.

Nick Leverett – OT, Buccaneers

Leverett was inactive again this week for the Bucs’ Week 8 game against the Saints. He was active for the first time of the season the week prior against the Bears. although he did not play.

Defense

Bryce Callahan – CB, Broncos

Callahan started his third game in four weeks for the Broncos in Week 8, registering three tackles before leaving the game with an injury that head coach Vic Fangio described as bad but “not bad, bad.”

Christian Covington – DL, Chargers

Covington as a productive game against the Patriots in Week 8, tying a season-high with five tackles. He’s now registered multiple tackles in each game this season.

Andrew Sendejo – S, Colts

Sendejo has been a fixture in the Colts’ starting defense since he got fully acclimated to the team. He had a season-high eight tackles against the Titans in Week 8, also registering his first forced fumble of the year.

Special Teams

Jack Fox – P, Lions

Despite his team trailing the Eagles from the fun, Fox only punted three times this week, including a long of 58-yards and pinning Philadelphia inside the 20 on two separate occasions.

Chris Boswell – K, Steelers

After putting his initial attempt through the pipes, Boswell was injured on a fake field goal attempt in the second quarter and did not return to the game.

After seeing some action the week prior following an injury to starter Garrett Bolles, Anderson returned to special teams duty in Week 7. That meant two snaps against the Browns on Thursday Night Football.

Nick Leverett – OT, Buccaneers

Leverett was officially active for the first time this season for the Bucs’ Week 7 win over the Bears. He did not play.

Defense

Bryce Callahan – CB, Broncos

Callahan started and made fice tackles, including a tackle for a loss in the Broncos’ Week 7 loss to the Browns. He has now had at least three tackles and at least one TFL in three consecutive games, two starts.

Christian Covington – DL, Chargers

Covington and the Chargers were on bye in Week 7. They play the Patriots in Week 8.

Andrew Sendejo – S, Colts

Sendejo made two tackles in the Colts’ Week 7 victory over the 49ers. It was his third start in the teams’ last four games.

Special Teams

Jack Fox – P, Lions

Perhaps inspired by the Owls’ own fake-punt hijinks, former Rice punter Jack Fox pulled off a fake punt of his own on Sunday:
