The Roost is on Patreon
The Roost is excited to announce our launch on Patreon. This is something we’ve been working on for a while now and will enable us to provide our readers with two things: exclusive content and a way to support our business.
What do I do now?
If you’re interested in supporting us, follow the orange button below to our Patreon page. Once you’re there you’ll be able to subscribe.
Still have questions? Check out our FAQ below or contact us.
What is Patreon?
Patreon is a subscription-based service that allows content creators to offer exclusive content to those who choose to support them financially.
Will I still be able to use the site and the forum without a membership?
Yes! There will still be content available on the site for free several days during the week, as has been the case in recent months and years. However, some content that was originally free such as practice reports and deeper analysis will be restricted for patrons.
Do I need a new account?
Patreon integrates with your existing login on The Roost website. After logging in on the website, all you need to do is log into your Patreon account and both accounts will be linked. From there you’ll be able to access the website with either set of credentials. Content will also be available directly on our Patreon Page as well. Have any issues? Contact us.
Why launch a subscription service now?
The Roost was launched with the intention of becoming a free-standing business. And like all businesses, revenue is important. We understand the current economic climate and know some will not be able to commit to a subscription. If you’re able and value what The Roost has done so far, please subscribe.
What if there are no sports? Are you still going to charge?
The uncertainty surrounding the return of sports is at the forefront of our minds. We will provide any updates to our services if/when there are modifications to the sports calendar that would materially alter our content strategy. As has been the case with the current extended offseason, The Roost remains committed to publishing quality content regardless of what is or isn’t happening in the sports world. Alternatively, Patreon is a month to month service which allows users to cease contributions if they chose to do so.
