Rice Football 2023 Spring Practice Notebook 3: Depth Chart

The first depth chart of Rice Football spring practices has been released and there’s a lot to unpack as the Owls begin the spring.

Several of the players who won’t appear on any depth chart this spring were mentioned in a previous update. This note focuses on those who are on the depth chart and how where they appear will impact expectations and certain realities for them this spring.

Rice Football 2022: Charlotte Game Week Practice Report

Rice football hosts Charlotte this weekend in search of win number five. Here’s what we learned from practice this week.

Undefeated at home this season, Rice football returns to South Main as heavy favorites against Charlotte. The Owls won’t be taking the 49ers lightly, and have said as much, addressing some key concerns in practice this week.

Rice Football 2022: FAU Game Week Practice Report

Rice football travels to the Sunshine State this weekend to play FAU. Here’s what we learned from practice as the Owls prep for C-USA’s other Owls.

Rice football returns from their bye week in search of their first road win of the season. FAU, the only Conference USA squad Rice head coach Mike Bloomgren has yet to play, promises to be another good test for this rising team.

Rice Football 2022 Season Preview: Safety

As part of our 2022 Rice Football Preseason Preview series, next we’ll examine the safety position and discuss the Owls’ plans for that group.

It’s been tough sledding on the back end of the Rice football secondary for some time now, although the rotating door at safety hasn’t been for lack of effort. Injuries have hammered this room hard in each of the past two years. This time around the Owls are looking as healthy as ever and they might even have some depth to go around, too. Here’s our 2022 Safety Preview.
