Rice Football is well represented on 2023 NFL rosters. Here’s the latest from the NFL Owls in action in Week 13.

There are former Rice football players scattered across the NFL. Stay tuned each week for their game results and notables from each player.

Offense

Calvin Anderson – OT, Patriots

Anderson was active but did not play in the Patriots’ Week 13 game against the Chargers.

Kylen Granson – TE, Colts

Granson was busy again on Sunday, hauling in three passes for 72 yards, a career high. He also added one rush for two yards.

Nick Leverett – OT, Buccaneers

Leverett got onto the field with the special teams unit again this week, his third time working with that phase this season.

Austin Trammell – WR, Rams

Trammell saw action on special teams again this week, returning one kick for eight yards and two punts for 15 yards.

Defense

Myles Adams – DL, Seahawks

Adams was inactive for the Seahawks’ Weel 13 game against the Cowboys.

Elijah Garcia – DL, Broncos

Garcia was inactive for the Broncos’ Week 13 game against the Texans.

Special Teams

Jack Fox – P, Lions

Fox punted five times on Sunday, averaging a booming 50.8 yards per punt including a long of 60 yards. The Lions needed every kick, narrowly edging out the saints by five points on the road.

Chris Boswell – K, Steelers

Boswell missed just his second field goal of the season on Sunday, this time from 45 yards. He made his other try and added an extra point. The Steelers lost by 10.

Anderson was active but did not play in the Patriots’ Week 12 game against the Giants.

Kylen Granson – TE, Colts

Granson saw a season-high six targets and posted a season-best four receptions on Sunday, accounting for 39 yards in the Colts’ victory over the Bucs.

Nick Leverett – OT, Buccaneers

Leverett was active but did not play in the Bucs’ Week 12 game against the Colts.

Austin Trammell – WR, Rams

Trammell saw only a handful of offensive snaps for the Rams on Sunday, making his contributions instead of special teams, where he returned two punts for 22 total yards.

Defense

Myles Adams – DL, Seahawks

Adams was active for the Seahawks’ Thanksgiving Day game against the 49ers, his first time being active since Week 7. He stepped right into a prominent role on special teams, playing a season-high eight snaps with that unit.

Elijah Garcia – DL, Broncos

Garcia was inactive for the Broncos’ Week 12 game against the Browns.

Special Teams

Jack Fox – P, Lions

Fox punted twice on Thanksgiving Day for 83 yards, with a long of 45 and one of his two balls downed inside the 20.

Chris Boswell – K, Steelers

Boswell did what he does on Sunday, delivering another perfect performance from the field. He drove through all three of his field goal tries and a lone extra point attempt, personally contributing 10 points to a 16-10 victory over the Bengals.

Austin Trammell – WR, Rams

Trammell turned in a career day for the Rams on Sunday, tallying a personal best three receptions for 23 yards on six targets. All three marks were career highs. Trammell finished second among all Rams’ wideouts in receptions.

Defense

Myles Adams – DL, Seahawks

Adams was inactive for the Seahawks’ Week 11 game against the Rams.

Elijah Garcia – DL, Broncos

Garcia was inactive for the Broncos’ Sunday Night Football contest against the Vikings.

Special Teams

Jack Fox – P, Lions

Fox punted twice on Sunday, delivering a pair of brilliant blasts, both of which were downed inside the 20 with the longest traveling 60 yards. Also, he wore this rather fantastic costume:

In a barnburner of a game, Fox was only called upon once. He delivered on his lone punt of the afternoon, booting it 29 yards and allowing the coverage unit time to down the ball at the eight-yard line.

Chris Boswell – K, Steelers

Boswell continues to be automatic for the Steelers this season. He connected on all three of his field goal tries on the afternoon, including a long of 49 yards while also converting a pair of extra points.
