Rice Football is well represented on 2025 NFL rosters. Here’s the latest from the NFL Owls in action in Week 6.

Elijah Garcia – DL, Giants

Garcia was inactive for the Giant’s Week 6 game against the Eagles on Thursday Night Football. This was the second time he’s been inactive this season after appearing in the teams’ first four contests.

Offense

Luke McCaffrey – WR, Commanders

McCaffrey is on a bit of a heater, catching another touchdown this week, a 33-yard score on Monday Night Football against the Chicago Bears.

Calvin Anderson – OL, Steelers

Anderson saw action in his second game of the season this weekend, playing on special teams in the Steelers’ Week 6 win over the Browns.

Austin Trammell – WR, Jaguars

Trammell was active but did not play in the Jaguars’ Week 6 loss to the Seahawks.

Kylen Granson – TE, Eagles

Granson continues to be heavily involved on the Eagles’ special teams unit with 10 tackles on the season while still playing a consistent allotment of snaps with the offense. He has not recorded a reception since Week 2.

Special Teams

Jack Fox – P, Lions

Fox punted three times in the Lions’ Week 6 loss to the Chiefs, averaging 46 yards per kick with a long of 49 yards. He pinned two of his kicks inside the 20 yard line.

Chris Boswell – K, Steelers

Boswell was 3-of-4 on field goals against the Browns in Week 6, suffering his first true miss of the season and converting both of his extra point tries. He is 9-of-11 on field goals this season, including one blocked kick.

Garcia saw inactive for the Giant’s Week 5 game against the Saints. This was the first time he’s been inactive this season after appearing in the teams’ first four contests.

Offense

Luke McCaffrey – WR, Commanders

McCaffrey made another highlight play this weekend, hauling in a 50-yard bomb from quarterback Jayden Daniels. The catch was the longest reception of McCaffrey’s career.

Calvin Anderson – OL, Steelers

The Steelers were on bye in Week 5.

Brant Banks – OL, Packers

The Packers were on bye in Week 5.

Austin Trammell – WR, Jaguars

Trammell was active but did not play on Monday Night Football against the Chiefs.

Kylen Granson – TE, Eagles

Granson saw his highest snap count of the season in Week 5 against the Broncos, splitting time between the offense and special teams. He didn’t record any receptions, but he does have at least one tackle in every game this season.

Special Teams

Jack Fox – P, Lions

Fox punted five times in the Lions’ Week 5 victory over the Bengals, averaging a 44.8 yards per kick with a long of 64 yards. He pinned four of his five kicks inside the 20 yard line.

Chris Boswell – K, Steelers

The Steelers were on bye in Week 5.

Garcia saw action on both defense and special teams this week against the Chargers but did not record any statistics.

Offense

Luke McCaffrey – WR, Commanders

McCaffrey did not find the endzone during his rookie year, but now has reached paydirt on back-to-back Sundays, hauling in a touchdown reception against the Falcons this weekend. He’s also become a mainstay on special teams, totaling 285 return yards on nine kickoff returns so far this season.

Calvin Anderson – OL, Steelers

Anderson saw his first action of the season this week against the Vikings in Europe, playing five snaps with the Steelers’ special teams.

Brant Banks – OL, Packers

Banks saw his second bout of action this week, playing a few snaps on special teams in the Packers’ Week 4 marathon tie against the Cowboys on Sunday Night Football.

Austin Trammell – WR, Jaguars

Trammell was promoted from the practice squad this week and active for the Jaguars’ game against the 49ers but did not see the field.

Kylen Granson – TE, Eagles

Granson saw limited usage on offense this week, instead logging a season high 23 snaps on special teams in the Eagles’ Week 4 win over the Bucs.

Special Teams

Jack Fox – P, Lions

Fox punted five times in the Lions’ Week 4 victory over the Browns, averaging a 44.2 yards per kick with a long of 53 yards. He pinned all five of his kicks inside the 20 yard line.

Chris Boswell – K, Steelers

Boswell is no longer perfect on field goal attempts this year after having one kick blocked against the Vikings on Sunday. He is 6-of-7 on field goals this season.

Luke McCaffrey – WR, Commanders

McCaffrey caught three passes for 56 yards on Sunday, finishing second on the team in receiving yards. More importantly, he took this long 43-yard reception all the way for his first NFL touchdown.

Kylen Granson – TE, Eagles

Granson saw just two snaps with the Eagles’ offense in Week 3 but played a core role on special tams, registering a tackle for his third consecutive week.

Special Teams

Jack Fox – P, Lions

Fox punted three times in the Lions’ Week 3 game against the Ravens, averaging a stout 48.7 yards per kick with a long of 53 yards.

Chris Boswell – K, Steelers

Boswell wasn’t called upon for any field goal duty this weekend but did fulfill his duties on extra points on the three occasions he was summoned from the sideline. He remains a perfect 5-of-5 on field goals this season.

Anderson was active but did not play in the Steelers’ Week 2 game against the Seahawks.

Brant Banks – OL, Packers

Banks made his NFL debut on Thursday Night Football against former Rice football teammate Luke McCaffrey.

Luke McCaffrey – WR, Commanders

McCaffrey caught one reception for 19 yards and a two-point conversion against the Packers on Thursday Night Football. He also had a 25-yard kick return.

Kylen Granson – TE, Eagles

Granson drew his first start of the season in place of an injured Dallas Goedert, catching one pass for five yards against the Chiefs. He also was heavily involved on special teams, making three tackles.

Special Teams

Jack Fox – P, Lions

Fox punted three times in the Lions’ Week 1 beatdown of the Bears, averaging a robust 49.0 yards per kick with a long of 62 yards. He pinned two balls inside the 20 yard line.

Chris Boswell – K, Steelers

Boswell didn’t have a 60-yarder this week, but he more than did his part for the Steelers against the Seahawks on Sunday, converting all three of his field goal tries. He’s a perfect 5-of-5 field goals this season.
