The numbers weren’t always pretty, but the offense got just enough from its core pierces to help Rice Baseball win games.
As a whole, the Rice Baseball offense wasn’t much to write home about in 2026. The Owls ranked near the bottom of the conference in most major statistical categories (batting average – 9th, slugging – 8th, on base percentage – 10th, home runs – 7th, runs scored – 9th) and yet, they managed to win 35 games.

A dominant pitching staff was the driver, but it wouldn’t be fair to rule the offense out entirely. In fact, because the pitching staff was so good, the offense frequently only required a clutch hit or two to play winning baseball. Rice went 34-10 when scoring at least three runs and the core members of the lineup were integral in that success.
