Rice Baseball had a remarkable campaign, it’s first complete season under head coach David Pierce. Following a midseason arrival in 2025, the program took a turn for the better with Pierce at the reigns. For the first time in a long time, it looked like Rice Baseball at Reckling Park.

Along the way, we learned a lot about what this program is going to look like under Pierce and what right-sized expectations ought to be as Rice begins its rise back toward prominence. The play was improved, pitching outstanding and the arrow continues to point upward. Here are the five things that stood out the most this season.
