Rice football is back on the field for the first time in months, but not without a few important adjustments to the roster as they open fall camp.

A long offseason concluded on Wednesday as Rice Football donned helmets for the first time for a walkthrough, then added pads and contact over the next few days. The Owls' return to the field brings with it plenty of energy and excitement, but this is also part of the calendar where unannounced offseason injuries and various other off-the-field concerns begin to bubble to the surface. Add in an ever-evolving NCAA landscape and August seems to forever feature a few curveballs.

Rice is not immune to the churn. While the vast majority of the team the Owls expected to field entering August remains intact, there are a few notable changes. And, as a result of some of those shifts, the Owls have been forced to consider some adjustments as they open camp.
