A year ago, Rice basketball was riding one of their best starts in program history and seven games above .500 as the New Year approached. The 2023-202t Owls would trade for those circumstances in a heartbeat. It’s been much tougher sledding this season, for a variety of reasons, and the road isn’t easing up anytime soon.
